Lighter By Letting Go

Lighter By Letting Go

Ancient yoga philosophy talks about the practice of the Asana—the movement as a means to make the body feel light by moving energy in places of the body where the energy was stagnant before. It makes the body feel light through the big inhale we take in each movement of the posture and the pose even if it isn’t a vigorous movement.

In our Raja practice, we let gravity do the work, but the breath is still so important to move the energy through the body. Even if we are lying still, it is the breath that moves the energy through our body.

Think about the movement— the inhale and the exhale. The exhale is releasing and creating space while the inhale is occupying that space. This process cleanses, recycles, and regenerates energy.

The work through our yoga practice, our exercise, or our meditation is to get to that place where we are moving energy, creating a space by letting go of the old and inviting in something that is brand new. We make sure that this “something new” is lighter and easier so that we are not carrying a burden or working too hard.

In fact, all we are doing is making ourselves light by letting go.

Feel a little lightness today. Embrace it. Let go of anything that is heavy and replace it with something that is light.

It only takes one positive intention at a time to let go, feel light, and change our life now, and my intention is to share these positive intentions through my ebook, 365 Positive Intentions, so that you are prepared to offer the best of your Self to the world. Every word of this book is part of the daily mantras that I repeat to my Self to maintain a positive perspective. Use Your Pain to Find Your Purpose

Take a moment to recall our deepest heartache, the most challenging struggle. Then focus on what we learned from them. The things that are most painful are giving us a reference frame for empathy and compassion for others who are going through the same thing. We have the opportunity to help others heal by sharing the lessons we learned. Have you ever had someone ask you for advice because they knew you had gone through a similar situation? Certainly, we recognize the pain in others because we felt that same pain. We recognize the struggle that others are going through because we have gone through similar difficulties. I set the intention today to allow what I learn from every struggle to be a source of strength so that when I notice someone else going through the same struggle, experiencing the same pain, I have the ability to offer them words of compassion, the ability to empathize, the ability to give them comfort, knowing that I will come out stronger on the other side. It’s when I acknowledge my pain that I find my purpose. I find how I will be most impactful to the people in my life because my experience has prepared me to empathize with others. Today, I take a moment to just recall the strength that I created from experiencing the struggle and use that strength to share with someone else. I will allow my struggle to be a source of strength and allow what I have learned to prepare me to help others. I make certain that everything I’ve gone through is giving me the ability to help someone else be strong today. I am strong today. I share my wounds, I share my pain and find my purpose.

Healing from the struggles we faced takes time. The strength it takes to heal that we may get from the compassion of other people is what we can pass onto other people who will suffer the same experiences we did.

Make This Breath Better Than the Last and Make This Moment Better Than The Past

Take a moment to focus on breathing. Invite in a long and deep inhale and then hold it. Yes, keep holding it. Now, the longer we hold this inhale, at some point we become desperate for the exhale. We realize that we cannot hold onto this inhale forever and we must let it go. We realize that the only possible way to invite in the next breath is to let go of the last breath. Letting go is the only way to make room to create possibilities and opportunities. By letting go, we can make this breath better than the last breath and make this moment better than the past. When we focus on what we are creating in this moment and this breath, we realize the past no longer exists. The past is the exhale we already let go of. The is this breath that fills our lungs, our bodies, our spirits, our souls. Focus on this breath and allow what we create in this breath to be better than the last breath. View this breath as an opportunity for greatness. After all, this moment, this breath, this idea, this thought, is all we need to create everything we want our life to be. Allow the inhale to be a reminder to fill our hearts, our spirits, and our energy with everything we want more of. Allow the exhale to be the perfect reminder to let of what we no longer need. Let go of the last thought, let go of the last word, let go of the last feeling and emotion and make room for something even better. Make this breath better than the last and make this moment

better than the past. Enjoy the day.

Never Mouth More Open Than Mind

I set the intention to never let my mouth be more open than my mind. I set the intention to lead with an open heart and an open mind to open my Self up to a deeper connection with the people around me. I am certain that my words reveal the energy I want to share with the people I love and the strangers I meet. The energy of my words inspires positive energy in the people I touch so they feel better after spending time with me. When I open my mouth, everything that comes out is valuable enough to be shared with the world. I understand that an open heart and an open mind, has never been a source of conflict. An open mouth, however, has the potential to cause division.

Words are powerful and they can improve or destroy our mental health. Our brains respond to the energy of our words. Positive words stimulate the brain while negative words trigger the release of stress-producing hormones. Words can enhance our mental health, elevate our personal energy, and significantly improve our lives. By putting our words to work for us, we can alter the molecular structure of our cells and change the balance of energy in the body.

When we open our minds and our hearts, we strengthen the connection we have with everyone and especially with the people who matter most to us. When we share the best of ourSelves with everyone around us, we create lasting connections that change lives. The positive energy that we want to create is communicated in the words we speak and everything we do. Live with an open mind and communicate with an open heart.

Surround yourself with positive people and make sure the quality of your thoughts matches the energy of the people around you. All we need is one positive thought to be an example of the energy we wish to see in the world. Life Is A Road With A Lot Of Signs

Life is one big road with a lot of signs that guide us towards our destiny. Too often we don’t pay attention to the signs and sometimes we ignore them completely and move in an opposite direction. The most important signs exist as instinct and intuition. Our innate wisdom is always guiding us towards the path of least resistance. Focusing on our instinct will guide us along the easy road. Focusing on the confrontation forces us to struggle against the resistance. Follow the signs as they are always guiding us along the easy road. When we open our hearts to what we feel and allow our instinct to lead us towards our dreams, the path ahead becomes clearer.

Our intuition is the bridge between our conscious and unconscious mind. When our mind propels us towards something, it is steering our body towards the easy way.  When we nurture and feed our intuition by following the signs, we utilize the wisdom we innately have to improve and thrive wherever we are.

Life is one big road with a lot of signs. The universe is always guiding us towards our destiny. Our instinct is always keeping us in a space of ease and effortlessness along the path of least resistance. Set the intention to follow the signs and effortlessly arrive at the dream destination.

Opportunities Instead of Obstacles

Set the intention to view every experience as an opportunity to improve. We choose how we perceive every circumstance in our life. We choose to perceive our circumstances as opportunities or obstacles. The obstacles we create prevent us from creating more of what we want in life. Obstacles block us from our blessings, but opportunities create infinite possibilities. Instead of thinking that things are happening TO us or that circumstances and people are working against us, we realize that everything is working WITH us. We understand that the struggles are strengthening us in preparation for our life’s work. Our ability to find the benefit in every circumstance requires a shift in perception to see that every experience can be an opportunity for Self-improvement rather than a Self-imposed struggle. When we feel stuck in the struggle, we consciously shift our focus knowing that the struggle is strengthening us. Every experience becomes an opportunity once we perceive it that way. Choose to perceive circumstances as opportunities instead of obstacles. Decide that every circumstance today is an opportunity to create more possibilities in your life and the lives of everyone you touch. Once we believe that every experience is an opportunity, the obstacles completely disappear and all that is left are infinite possibilities. Decide today that every experience is an opportunity for Self-improvement.

When we challenge obstacles, we reveal what the obstacle truly is; an opportunity in disguise. When we put the challenge to work for us, we begin to see beyond all boundaries and we stop focusing on our weaknesses. It is our choice to take the challenges that life throws our way and use those lessons to achieve our goals and dreams.

Smile Today

Set the intention to smile today. Smile for no apparent reason. Smile especially when our first inclination is not to smile. A smile is our soul communicating. Our smile serves an offering we share with the world that touches every person we meet. A smile makes every interaction we have a little easier, more pleasant, more rooted in the love and the connection that we want others to feel. Set the intention to smile more. Smile at strangers and make eye contact. Smile smile at the people we don’t like, or at people who frustrate us, or even at people who meet us with aggression or anger. A smile will diffuse them completely or may even confuse them, either way a smile works to our benefit.

A smile, although a simple gesture, benefits us more than we know. The magic of a smile goes beyond being a gift to the people we meet. A smile boosts our confidence and attractiveness. A smile improves our overall wellbeing. A smile activates the release of feel-good vibrations in our brain to alleviate stress, lower heart rate and blood pressure, and even relieve physical pain.

Make an effort to smile knowing the smile does even more for our own energy than it does for the person who’s receiving the smile. A smile will improve the connection we have with others. A smile allows our soul to be a little more open. Smile more today and feel more connected every day.

Thoughts Regulate Emotions

We use our thoughts to create emotions. If we regulate our thoughts to manipulate our emotions, we immediately begin to feel the shift our thoughts have on our energy. If we think we are more confident, we begin to feel more confident. If we think we are strong and powerful, we start to feel that powerful energy. If we believe we are perfectly content and happy, then emotionally we will begin to feel that way. Today, set an intention to allow each thought to be a positive affirmation. Allow each thought to be a reflection of what we want our life to be and allow each thought to create our emotional state. The perfect test will be the next time we are sitting in traffic and feel a little frustrated, knowing that the shift will happen the moment we think about how relaxed we are. Next time we find our Selves in a stressful situation, think about how at ease we are. Next time we are not entirely confident in our ability, we convince our Selves that we are confident. Actively using our thoughts to regulate our emotional state. All we need is the belief in our power to create what we want and to let that belief fuel our dreams.

I Focus On Strength

Today I focus on strength. I focus on the power of my thoughts, the power of my words, and the

influence that my actions have on every person I meet and touch. I focus on my strength when I close my eyes and tap into this inner energy that moves through every cell of my body. I realize that this energy I feel as sensation in my body is fueling a spirit. My spirit has touched the lives of everyone I have ever interacted with. I am strong and powerful. I am strong in this breath. I am strong in this thought. I set the intention from this moment forward to let my thoughts and words be affirmations of the energy I want to hold inside and the energy that I wish to see in the world. I share the strength I hold inside me with the world through a compassionate glance, a warm smile, a hug, and a kind word. I share the power I hold within with everyone around me, allowing my strength to inspire and empower the strength of others. I am strong, and I hold this powerful energy as a testament to what I am able to create in my mind, in my heart, in my life, and especially in the world.

I Have Time

Have you ever told yourSelf that you didn’t have time?  No time for your Self, no time for meditation, no time for Yoga, not enough time for whatever it is you needed to feed your spirit. I recently set the intention to start going back to the beach for meditation. I used to go all the time and there was a point where I started to feel rushed in my meditation practice. I started to tell myself I didn’t have time to go to the beach and I stopped going altogether. Then one day, I told my Self, “I have time. I have to create time.” I needed that time at the beach watching the sun rise above the water. I realized that time in meditation was feeding my spirit in the morning. Every moment in meditation was magically clearing space for the energy I required throughout the day. I needed to make sure I had time for meditation. So, I decided to tell my Self that I have time and visualize my Self easily moving through my morning with plenty of time. Miraculously, the next morning I had 20 extra minutes. I had time! I kept reaffirming that I have time. The next day I had an extra 30 minutes. Nothing really in my routine changed, but I started to prioritize my time. When we think about what we really want to do and we prioritize our Self first, we create the time we require to consciously invest in our Self. When we give our Selves time for what we need, we have the ability to give more of our Selves to the people we love. Tell your Self you have time, over and over again. Use having time as a mantra and convince your Self that you have time. Tell your Self you have the time, and every moment you have the time, remember to make the most out of it.

Time is the greatest gift we can give to our loved ones and most especially, to ourselves. The love we hold inside requires us to give our body and mind time to heal from the external negativity and time to invite in the positive energy that we deserve.
